DOES PERMANENT COSMETIC TATTOO'S HURT?
Mariah uses two types of numbing agents to reduce the discomfort level significantly. The first one is 5% Lidocaine cream, which will be applied for 20 minutes after you have been mapped for shaping. The second one is 4% Lidocaine, 2% Tetracaine and Epinephrine.
Pain tolerances per person are completely different and even one brow can be more sensitive than the other. Mariah will do her best to keep you as comfortable as possible. It is a very tolerable discomfort and everyone says the blading portion is like a cat scratch. Having the procedure during your menstrual cycle may increase your sensitivity.

NO CAFFIENE BEFORE MY APPOINTMENT?! WHY NOT?!
Here's the thing about caffeine, it thins your blood. Thin blood means that when I am microblading your brows, you will have excessive bleeding. Excessive bleeding will push the pigment out of the strokes, making it extremely difficult for me to do my best work. Plus, that cool-toned blood mixed with pigment will result in ashy, uneven retention.
I want you to have your best brows.

WHY CAN'T I WORK OUT THE MORNING OF OR 10 DAYS AFTER MY APPOINTMENT?
Same thing with caffeine, working out increases your blood flow, causing excessive bleeding.
Now, the reason for the 10 days after: SWEAT. Sweat is basically saline, 99% water, 1% salt. Saline is the number 1 removal tool for permanent cosmetics.
Now after you went through the pre-care, the payment, seeing those beautiful brows, you wouldn’t want to sweat them away right? I didn’t think so. Take a nice 10 day break away from your normal routine and just go on a nice walk outside or anything else to help with your self-care so you can have those beautiful brows long term.

DO YOU PROVIDE THE AFTER-CARE PRODUCTS?
Each appointment (excluding the perfecting session) include an after-care kit. After-care kits include foaming cleanser, healing ointment/lotion, q-tips, and cotton rounds. There is enough product, if used correctly, for both your initial session and touch up session. If additional product is needed, an added fee per item will be charged.

WHY IS A PERFECTING SESSION REQURIED FOR ALL INITIAL SESSIONS?
At 4-6 weeks your permanent cosmetic tattoos will be fully healed in which we will be able to see your retention. Whatever pigment that does not return will be addressed at your perfecting session or if you would prefer darker, bolder brows we can always add more color or dimension during that appointment! At this appointment we can also add any shading necessary for brows. Permanent cosmetic tattoos are a two-step process.

WHEN SHOULD I COME IN FOR MY ANNUAL REFRESHER?
Annual refreshers are done once your microbladed brows have faded 50-70%.
Crazy huh?! You’re use to having full, beautiful brows and you want that back so I get it BUT you want to wait this long because otherwise we are putting pigment back onto too much pigment, not allowing for a natural brow. If you touch them up too early, or too often, they will become oversaturated, blocky, blurred strokes & ashy.
On average, I typically have my clients coming in around the 15-18 month mark.

WHAT IF I HAVE HAD MY BROWS DONE PREVIOUSLY BY ANOTHER ARTIST?
If you have had your brows done by another artist previously, I require a in-person consultation that can be booked online. During this appointment, we will talk about your past work, your experience with them as I analyze if I am comfortable working on them. If I am, the $25 fee for the consultation will be waived and the non-refundable retainer will be due to book your appointment. There are no exceptions to the consultation in this instance. If they require color correction, an additional $100 fee will be added.
